Gardiner finishes in top 50 at the Trèfle Lozérien AMV

Australians Jess Gardiner has managed to score an impressive 49th overall place finish, out of a total of 546 riders, in the 31st running of the Trèfle Lozérien AMV, which is a famous endurance race that is held over three days of high emotions in the heart of the magnificent landscapes of Lozère.

From the Tarn Gorges to the foothills of Aubrac via the Margeride, the 200 km circuits form three laps in the form of a clover leaf from Mende to Mende, which Gardiner explained as “beautiful views” on the way throughout the three days of competition.

The first day of competition saw Gardiner guiding her Rider Camp Yamaha team WR250F to 65th place overall, while the following day she managed to move up thirteen places to 52nd position.

The third and final day once again saw the 24-year-old improve on her times and overall result, which saw her finishing in 47th place.

Gardiner, who won every single test in the Women’s class throughout the three days also claimed the outright honours in her class.

“It’s been a fantastic weekend,” beamed Gardiner, who made debut outing at the Trèfle lozérien AMV event. “Today ended up better than what I expected, as I’m happy to improve on the grass tracks as there were no lines to pick from, which I like when I’m racing. So it was a great training for me.”

Gardiner has paid credit to the Moto Club lozérien, saying they did a top job in regards to making the tests and the whole show.

“The whole event was really exceptional. I take my hat off to the organisation as they all did a fantastic job in outing this event together.

On top of that, the spectators were very supportive of me and it was really nice to feel welcome in my ‘adopted’ country this weekend here in Mende. I’ll be sure to come back and race this event again,” concluded Gardiner.

Gardiner will have a few weeks off now to prepare herself for the second round of the Women’s FIM Enduro GP World Championship, which will take place at Parádfürdó in Hungary on 23-25 June.
